AUTO MAINTENANCE TIPS
When it comes to keeping your vehicle running the way you expect it to run, our philosophy is simple; whatever is the easiest, least expensive, and most convenient way to make your car last for over 200,000 miles is the only way we will do the job!
FOLLOWING MANUFACTURER'S SUGGESTED TIMELINES
THE FIRST MAJOR CHECK UP: 30,000 MILES
After many years of working on a variety of imported and domestic vehicles, we've learned that when working with the manufacturer's suggested intervals, a major car service is due every 30,000 miles.
During your 30,000 mile check up, we inspect:
- Spark plugs
- Fuel filter
- Cooling system fluid check and/or change
- Transmission change
- Brake check
- Any other fluids and major parts
THE SECOND MAJOR CHECK UP: 60,000 MILES
What should you expect?
- Timing belt inspection and replacement
- Differential and gear fluid
- Plug wire inspection and replacement
During the 60,000 mile check, we focus on major car engine functions that can start to show wear. A crucial check is the timing belt equipped in many vehicles. Not only is the inspection and replacement of this major belt highly recommended but timely inspection of this belt can save you thousands of dollars if it goes undetected and breaks during travel.
Another major inspection that occurs during your 60,000 mile check is the differential and gear fluids. Typically these fluids and the plug wire set will need to be changed.
On average, the auto repairs listed above will need to be done every two to three years, depending on the usage of your vehicle. Between these intervals, the only work that should be needed is the routine lube, oil and filter service.
INDUSTRY GUIDELINES ARE TRIED AND TRUE!
It has been proven over and over again that if the guidelines listed are followed, you should enjoy many trouble-free years and thousands of miles of reliable transportation from your vehicle.
